The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds can be found along the beautiful shores of Lake Chatuge in the mountainside community of Hiawassee in Northern Georgia. The Fairgrounds are only 2 hours from the large Georgia and Southeastern cities of Atlanta, Greenville, Asheville, and Chattanooga. This large area in the Fairgrounds hosts a large amount of vendors and unique venues only found here, and many unique RV and camping sites to choose from on your visit.

One of the other amenities in the Appalachian Mountains and in the city of Hiawassee, is the natural wonder of Lake Chatuge. Lake Chatuge is a large lake with over 132 miles of shoreline that wrap around the many valleys and mountain ranges that make up the foundation for so many of these North Georgia communities. If you enjoy being on the water with either a regular boat, or one of many water sport vehicles including jet skis, water boarding, rafting, and much more. If you do not own your own water vehicle, you may rent one for yourself or family for a day of fun on the water. There are many fishing areas and tournaments including some of the best fly fishing and trout fishing in the Southeast, here on the banks and lagoons of Lake Chatuge, including the river basins of the Hiawassee, Toccoa, Tallulah, Chatooga, Nantahala Rivers in Northern Georgia. If you enjoy the water systems here in the Appalachian Mountains, including the many waterfalls such as High Shoals Falls in Towns County, Georgia.
